I am a philosopher of science and an assistant professor at the Department of Theoretical Philosophy, University of Groningen.

I am also an associate editor of the journal Theory & Psychology and coordinator of the master program Philosophy, Science and Humanities.

My current research topics include (1) causal discovery and downward causation, (2) the role of theory in psychology, and (3) levels and the nature of hierarchical organization.
